Interesting trade. I'm not really sold on Sakurai, but Rin and Fernandez both also need to bounce back for Atlanta to get anything approximating value. This has the potential to be a very one-sided trade in a few years - just not sure for which side.

I feel like Sapiens is kind of an "x" factor as well if he develops. Surely he can be a dynamic player. He'll be spending at least this season continuing that develop in the minors while Hill plays out the last year of his contract, but yeah he could be a 20/20 guy in the future as a ceiling no?

It doesn't seem like there are a lot of guys in the RSL with 7 contact and 7 power who hit 20 HR a year, but that could definitely be his ceiling.

Pittsburgh and New Orleans have reached an agreement

    Pitt Receives

    OF Doug McNeal

    NO Receives

    2B Stanley Ray (AAA)
    OF Clayton Howell (AAA)

I have some outfield depth to deal from and moving McNeal frees up some money. McNeal probably just needs some Pittsburgh magic to reach his potential

    Thanks for the trade Matt!

    Re: 2029 Trade Thread

Confirmed. I'm sure that Ray will turn out to be a solid player, and I do have some questions about McNeal's ability to maximize his hitting potential, but Pittsburgh is good to LHBs and he's still awkwardly young. With Morrow about a season away from being the full-time 2B, Ray was blocked by Goff at the majors and Morrow in the minors. And hey, one more damn reclamation project for me to fiddle with! He and Ferneyh should make a nice pairing in the middle of the lineup in my heart.

New Orleans and Cincinnait have agreed to a minor league swap

    Cincinnati receives

    OF Joe Emerson (AA)

    NO Receives

    C Hector Morales (AA)

Just looking to add some catching depth to my system, not that Morales can really catch all that well.

Toronto and New Orleans have agreed to a trade

NO Receives - OF Stanley MacNeill

Toronto Receives - NO 4th round pick in this years draft

My outfield defense is suspect, MacNeill gives me a reserve who can catch anything and perhaps not completely embarrass himself with the bat. All your Stanleys are belong to me!

Vancouver and Pittsburgh have come to an agreement.
    Pittsburgh receives: CF Vincente Cano
Vancouver receives: RP Guillermo 'El Diablo' Morales

As much as I hate to give up my best defensive outfielder, my bullpen was a dumpster fire last season and I think Morales' 10 K/9 will help quite a bit.

    Re: 2029 Trade Thread

Confirmed. Cano is a welcome addition that will help mitigate the Kwak/McNeal/Zuniga lefty-heavy lineup that I've currently got. He's mashed LHPs every stop along the way, has plus defense, and is a high percentage base stealer. Should be a nice platoon guy for my lineup, even with no further development.

    Pittsburgh Acquires:

Essentially a trade made on an abundance of riches in the OF, and a lack thereof in the bullpen, so I needed to find a dominant one to anchor my pen for this season and next. Thanks, Matt. Enjoy the real Jay Z.

Confirmed. Since I lost out on Christensen - which, you know, I'm still upset about - I figured I should probably actually get another outfielder for my lineup. Zavala won't hit that much, but his defense and base stealing will give him a lot of surplus value. Between Zuniga and Zavala, I have not only the Killer Zs, but also about 100-150 stolen bases at a 70-80% clip. Which proves, once again, that I change my organizational philosophy on a whim! A WHIM! HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAH! HOME RUNS ARE FOR LOSERS!

    Re: 2029 Trade Thread

Mean Ron has departed the Nations Capital to greener (and colder) pastures across the boarder.

    Montreal acquires
    OF 'Mean' Ron Jenkins

    Washington acquires
    AA 1B Curt 'Fatso' Wright
A SP Miguel 'The Terminator' Sepúlveda
    A SP David DeVere
    AAA SP Larry Lounsbury
    AAA P Johnny Rutledge

So this trade does a couple of things for the Senators.
    1) Frees up a 25 man batter roster slot and the finances to make some proper adjustments due to the lack of free agents signings
    2) Gives us some nice prospect pitching depth to go along with the 7 pitchers drafted this year

As always, easy and nice negotiations with you Jada, it's greatly appreciated.

    Re: 2029 Trade Thread

Mean Ron (or 'Ron Le Anger' as he has been referred to locally) brings a veteran presence to a young but talented lineup. As a full time DH we hope he can avoid some of the injury problems that have plagued him recently. And we hope that by reuniting LeAnger with old friend and former teammate LeClair he settles in quite nicely.

(This is what happens when free agents ask for stupid insane money and spurn my generous offers... IN YOUR FACE free agents!!)
