    2029 Trade Block Thread

Since the regular season is over, thought I'd start a new thread for the off-season and next year.

I am particularly interested in MI, C, and bullpen help, but am open to any offers

New Orleans has the following available in sign and trade

    IF - Harvey Brown
    C - Leonardo Rangel
    OF - Johnny Stady
    IF - George Navegero
    IF - Carl Anderson

Also willing to move any of the players below and not opposed to moving not listed players either

OF - Doug McNeal, come get the 2026 rookie of the year, still under team control for two years

I also have any number of 4th/5th start types if you need help at the back of the rotation

    SP Alex Henderson
    SP Armando Creteles
    SP Adam Parent
    SP Roberto Flowers
    SP Russ Fowler

    Re: 2029 Trade Thread

This thread should probably be renamed Trade Block.

Also, we (well me personally at least) need to know if there is going to be a move to a DH next season before people can know what they need to trade for.

Looking to move either SS Ernesto Fiesco or 2B Jayson Mooney. Both cheap, capable starters in the middle or cheap enough to be quality backups. I just have too many middle infielders right now. A fourth round pick would get either.

I also have excess pitching so anyone on my staff outside Badtree can be moved for picks, prospects or maybe a first baseman better than what I have now.

I'd probably trade Adrian Zuniga for young guys just about to hit the big leagues. I've got my eye on defense for this iteration, if only because I just released both Vera and that fucking useless piece-of-shit Maurer and need to keep my budget low next season.

    Re: 2029 Trade Thread

    Montreal needs for 2029:
    - A #2 starting pitcher to slot in behind Ohayashi (we miss you GoGo Galli)
    - A right handed hitting OF who can play all 3 positions well, beats up on lefties but isn't completely useless against righties
    - A late inning left handed setup guy who is good enough to occasionally close
    - If we move to DH, then I guess we'll need a DH or (even better) an everyday RF to push James Congdon to DH
    - A left handed or switch hitting backup SS/2B with good range and decent contact skills
    - A left handed or switch hitting backup C with good defensive ratings who can hit better than this guy.

    Montreal has to offer:
    - The Pittsburgh 1st pick in the next draft, plus any future Montreal picks in the draft after next.
    - One of my young catchers in 7/7/5 Roberto Avelardo or 7/5/7 Eugene Carr
    - Any prospect in our system except for CF Worden and C Mortlock, which leaves some quality names like 7/9/7 1B Curt Wright, 8/8/5 OF Mango Anderson, 9/7/5 SP Miguel Sepulveda, 8/6/6 SP Fernando Torres, and 7/7/7 SP David DeVere

I'm also interested in landing an everyday starting SS with excellent defense who can hit some (I know, who wouldn't) and could be open to trading young 8/7/5 2B Marcos Garcia (he's still only 22 with plenty of potential) or 9/7/7 SS Larry Vogler in the deal. Vogler was an all-star last season, and the in game scouts love both these guys. I like Vogler enough that I don't have to move him, but SS is his worst position and he'd be better suited as a 2B or 3B but I can't play him there. So basically I would be willing to downgrade at SS offensively for a more a more range-ey middle infielder (we miss you JP Berube).

We're hoping to play better than .500 ball next year so we'll spend a bit of money in free agency and see if we can't start getting our fans back. I'm tired of hoarding picks and prospects. Time to see if this Montreal milkshake can start bringing the boys to the yard.

I'm interested in sign/trade deals if you have pending free agents that fit our wish list above. Not looking for bad contract dumps, I'm trying my hardest to be fiscally responsible for a change.

    Wolves on the trading block:

3B/2B David Benitez- He has a career .394 .OBP across 2432 PA, finished 6th in the WC in BA this season, is signed to a 2.5 MM contract and was a starter in the ASG this season. Don't let the ratings fool you.
LF Jose Cabral or Carl Holden - Either one could be used as a cheap DH
LF/RF Jeremy Vidito who can hit both lefties and righties and finished 7th in the WC in OBP this season.
    C Luis Fonseca
CF Vincente Cano - A defense first CF with 9 range who can play all outfield positions and should have some pop.

I would consider none of my prospects to be off limits except the Marvelous Trent.

E: I have also waived 5 players who will be available with the next sim.

    Re: 2029 Trade Thread

Minneapolis has a number of cheap utility options who are youthful and flash the leather, if that excites you at all. (Actually there aren't that many, but a few.)

I also would be happy to discuss trade ideas for any pitcher on my roster. I have 11 pitchers under contract, all but probably one or two of which are producing well and underpaid.

I need some guys who can swing the stick and play passable defense. Any position could work, but preferably not middle infield as I wouldn't pay what I'd need to pay for an all-around middle infielder.

I am willing to trade picks or receive them depending on which route you'd like to go. PM or IRC.

Atlanta's shopping DeYoung once again. Fairly inexpensive veteran pitcher. Still useful as a #3 or #4 guy. Could go for very little, mostly just don't want his (reasonable!) contract anymore.

Also, if anyone's in the market for a cheap veteran catcher, Tom Allain is available.

    Re: 2029 Trade Thread

C Armando Rodriguez is available for a mid-round pick or equivalent talent. He's been unlucky the last two years, but he's still rated pretty highly by the game. Mostly looking to drop the contract, admittedly.
IF Salvador Jimenez is also available for pretty cheap. He's solid depth with plus defense and a patient eye, but I can't afford him anymore. He's pretty decent against righties still, if you play your cards right.

Open to offers on just about anyone with my team this offseason. Lots of possible directions I could go, so if you're interested in someone, don't hesitate to shoot me a PM or a note on IRC.

I'm heavily considering hedging my bet and dealing catcher Richard Crowhurst for one halfways interesting prospect or a pick or a 4th outfielder type of player. Crowhurst has been super consistent and is really cheap, but maybe dealing him will get me to commit to a long term catcher somehow.

Chicago Phantoms are looking for bullpen help. I have a handful of solid batters that can be swapped.

1B/DH - Javier Garcia - Big stick that will consistently get on base and steal a few as well. Defensively inept, thank goodness for the DH.
1B/DH - John Cowan - Solid contact/gap hitter. Also defensively inept, but has some ratings at corner spots and 1B.
OF - Carlos Garza - True CFer with range all over the place, hit pretty well when he was healthy for me last season.
OF - Javier Zavala - Plus defender all over the outfield, a lock to steal 30-50 bases and coming off one of his better seasons in full time at bats.
OF - Jerome Ward - The epitome of a power hitter, with recent boosts should near 40 dingers, signed up for all of 560K/3 years and plus defender.
OF - Craig Eccles - If you'd prefer youth with contact/low Ks, this is your guy. Corner outfielder.
OF - Jesus Trevino - This guys been blocked by aforementioned players, but similar to Eccles with a little more power. Strictly a LFer.

Let me know if anything interests you, and what bullpen help is available and we can talk shop. Or if you see another unlisted player, feel free to get at me.

If it's worthwhile enough, I have no problem eating salary if needed, or can also work cash into the deal as I have some of that laying around as well.

I could trade one of Curt Ross, George Lee, or Gunner Park for the right offer. Lee and Park are effective outfielders who can hit and are still cost controlled. Ross isn't so good in the field but could make a great DH and he's only making 1.9 MM this season.

I'm pretty confident I will be able fill most of my team needs via free agency. But late inning left handed relievers? Them pickings are slim... and those that exist want stupid-insane-even-for-starting-pitching-ace money. So I'm willing to move some decent prospects and overpay for a solid, left handed bullpen arm with closer potential. If you've got one, drop me a line to chat.

Actually, I take that back. Free agency has been cruel to me this year. So... as evidenced by our willingness to dump prospects for Mean Ron... Montreal are serious about raiding our top ranked farm system to get the pieces we need to improve now.

We're desperately looking for a left handed setup/closer type. (Damn you Matt for trading Sgorion to Chicago!!) My best prospects are gone, but I still have useful pieces to offer:

    - 8/8/5 AAA OF prospect Mango Anderson
    - 7/7/5 ML C Robert Avelardo who has hit well at AAA but has yet to translate that to big league success.
    - 5/7/8 SP John Jarville who at age 20 has put up very strong numbers at AAA already.
    - 7/7/6 RF Alejandro Meneces who I just drafted in the first round.

Also willing to move picks for next season, where I'm feeling pretty confident that we'll be up in top 5 range...

    LA FORCE IRRESISTIBLE DU NORD
2012 - 2018: GM Toronto Juggernauts. Ikeda, Nitta, Mawson, Grays, Heart and Soul, Sexy Texy time, 3 playoff appearances, "The Drop", no titles.
2019 - 2022: Bankrupt the Juggers and quit. No time for baseball. Too busy remapping the Scottish Highlands to accommodate my hubris.
2023 - 2025: Back with a new team for Montreal. JP Berube, the Smoked Meat Mafia, Le Bubba, Abdul the Terrorist, 3 playoff appearances, 1 division title.
2026 - 2028: REBOOT! Everyone - yes, everyone - traded or released. Old Man Vera plus a bunch o' crap, busted prospects, no wins, no fans.
2029 - 2032: The Chocolate LeClair era in Montreal. Double aces. Shawn Worden: Prima Donna? The ballad of Roy Jr. Ouch, my park factor!

Since Eric Fountain is an asshole, the Gaedels are on the lookout for a good 1B, so send me a PM or catch me in IRC if you've got someone to deal.
