I'm guessing it's a result of his poor range/arm/DP rating somehow. OOTP is weird about that. I don't exactly like it, but that's how it is.

Eesh. Mike Schick, who hit .314 in his rookie year last year in 398 ABs, is off to a 1 for 29 start since being recalled. Offense as a whole (as expected though) has been shit. However, the couple of guys I expected to at least average bats have been dreadful thus far. Tim Brown continues to regress to the point where he's merely a platoon player. He could never hit lefties, but now he's not hitting righties either.

Starting pitching has been surprisingly poor as well, particularly from Matt Cain. A 16 game winner with a 3.98 ERA last year, he's off to a 1-3 start with an 11.70 ERA. Actually, I take that back. Cain's the only one that blows. Rhee and Litsch both have pitched exceptionally well thus far for cheap veteran signings, and Daigneault/Bishop are doing what's expected of them.

I'm not really sure I should have expectations for winning much with this team as assembled anyway. Starting pitching is very solid, as is the back end of the bullpen, and the defense, but we just have no offense to speak of.

We've lost a lot of close games, hopefully we can stay competitive while we continue to bridge the gap to our next wave of talented pitchers.

Ben Revere probably won't see the starting lineup again, what a miss he has been.
