Greatest Forum Ever

Just wishing for the old days when this group was together. Mostly civil discussions on any topic. No wild west bantering dropping F bombs all over the place. Just 30-40 friends playing and talking baseball. I've never found a replacement or anything that comes close. Seems most forums have died with the emergence of Facebook and Twitter. The ones left standing go uncensored and you have to wade through the smut and spam.

Anyway, hope the former members are doing well where ever they are now. I wish what we had 10 years ago still lived today. It is nice to see that Reid, Mak, Scott, Rujasu, Spindel, Ryan, and a few others are still around in some capacity.

It's a shame that PC baseball sims aren't what they used to be. OOTP is great, but it was the High Heat mods that really made this site. With High Heat going away, BBSC sort of lost its niche. We do have three strong OOTP leagues, though: the RSL has been running strong for a long time, the ULB has really taken off since launching, and the SCMLB seems to be turning a corner with several new owners coming aboard.

There also used to be a lot more general MLB chat around here, and we really lost that a while ago. Kind of a shame -- there are other places to talk baseball these days, but this place was always a good one.

As Rich says, the IRC channel is fairly active.

Things are going well. Kids growing up, bought a home, learned guitar, and quit my 18 year dipping tobacco habit. Could be better, could be worse. :-)

Yeah, I wish I could bring back the golden years as well. The site was never really the same after the HH series died. But, the leagues are still going strong, from what I hear. So there is still a part of the site that is alive and kicking.
