It's that time again. OOTP13 has been released, as most of you are probably aware. Now, I don't think there's a single person here who regrets not switching to OOTP12. There weren't many, if any, features for online leagues and a lot of the game upgrades seemed overly-ambitious or not worth our while anyway. The few people I know who did purchase OOTP12 seem to confirm this as well.

However, I do think it's very likely that the RSL will be upgrading to OOTP13. I have purchased the game, and there are some nice additions. But perhaps most importantly, I think it's important to stay on (or close to) the current version of the game to keep a pipeline of new blood entering the league. We've currently dipped to an all-time high in open teams (that are virtually all in last place). That's going to happen, comes with the territory and all. I think being on the current version of OOTP13 will help us infuse the league with a few new bodies and I think that's good for everybody.

I would also really like to upgrade to OOTP13 next season. You need to be on Opening Day in order to upgrade (I think?) so that would be the earliest point we'd upgrade.

So I need you to fill out this poll real quick. Let me know your thoughts in this thread too, if you have any.

Markus didn't give any specifics but he did say that the next patch would "add some nice stuff (i.e. online league related things)."

I haven't tested it yet to see if it does things like put first basemen in centerfield while leaving outfielders on the bench yet but I guess I'm game.

As Greg says, moving to version 13 is about the only way find GMs to fill any holes in the league. I already have purchased version 13.

+1 any league that doesn't upgrade is going to get left behind. Part of the reason we're 1/3 empty in the SCMLB is the trouble finding anyone who hasn't quit the league and also has OOTP 11.
