    2019 Trade Thread

    New York Cosmos Get:

    P Matsudaira Iida
    P Tom Ingram (AA)
    P Lawrence Boulter (A)
    OF John Garris (R)
    C Anastasio Soto (R)

    Minneapolis Vikings Get:

    OF Julian Peters (AAA)

As always, DK very likely gets the better end...but alas, he always seems to be the most available and willing to make a deal when I need to make one. I originally offered Soto and Garris for Peters. That wasn't a sure thing, so I decided I give up more and use this as my time to dump Iida, whose 10.3 million is nice to get off the books.

    Thanks DK.

Since I will be shedding so much salary, adding Iida for one year won't hurt too much. Plus, I got a few interesting players out of it.

This was a complicated deal and I still don't know if I'm getting the better end of it, but should be interesting with Kawashima and Ikeda at the top of my rotation next season. Good luck to New Orleans in fitting all the new pieces in.

Actually... the 2nd rd. pick is 2019 (the upcoming draft); but the other two picks should be in the draft after that (so 2020 I guess). The Juggernauts have my 3rd round pick in this upcoming draft. So we settled on giving New Orleans the 3rd and 4th rd. picks a year from now. Which is actually why Javier Contreras is included too.

Thank you, that should help a bunch. Sorry for the mix up on picks. 2nd rounder is this year and 3rd and 4th is next year, like jman pointed out.

I am bored at work and on this right now. It's, um... well, let's just say people got friendly with some of their draft picks. Super friendly.

    Denver trades:
    2019 2nd round pick
    Miami's 2019 2nd round pick

    Washington trades:
    1B Josh Farmer
    RF Christian Crossley

Fills a couple holes in my lineup. Was looking at roughly equivalent players in free agency, but these two are younger and cheaper.

    Denver digs the long ball.

We really wanted to move up to grab Salgado who fills an organizational hole which allows us to complete another deal.

Liked Cavera, who is a few years off still, but obviously Salgado makes him expendable and allows us to shore up the back end of the rotation. Thanks Felix

Confirmed. Fisk was expendable given the massive number of relievers I have, and Cavera fits my ridiculous defensive demands of any SS. Nice working with you AJ

Toronto trades the #14 and #15 picks in this years draft to St Louis for $70 million dollars in cash.

This should get us almost back in the black and allows us to keep our young core of Henderson/Plecks/Berube/Kim in place for a while longer.

St Louis was bleeding cash. They can only carry over $100 million at the end of the season, and they earned more than that last year. With their payroll where it is they'll make all of this back within a few seasons.

If you've got cash burning a hole in your pocket and you're going to lose some of it to the cash cap anyhow, why not get something of value for it, right?

    Confirmed.

I get better defense, Alex gets better offense. I get financial flexibility, he gets a key player for the next two years (rather than having to let Robzilla and his, I'm sure, eleventy billion dollar contract demands walk). He also gets Jorge Cortez, who I hate for reasons I can't articulate, but I do hate him.
