I must say, I don't see why we're so terrible to start the season here. For right now, I'm going to not panic and assume it's just a hiccup; it'll work itself out in time. In solo leagues, I have a rule of, excepting injuries, not touching my team until one month has been played, at the very least, because you really can't begin to tell what you've got until then.

Well, I think I figured out what's wrong with my team - someone forgot to turn off the 7-day lineups, resulting in Sova and Hastings pitching in 3 out of 4 games I'll never get back those wins we crapped away, which will really have me kicking myself if we wind up within a few games of the playoffs - I suspect we're more mediocre than that, though.

5-1 week for the North Stars as we try and recover from a disastrous April. Time will tell if its a trend or merely a blip.

4-3 sim for Seibu puts us into a tie for first with Cleveland. We won 2/3 against Cleveland to end the week and they got it back to a tie with a win in the final game of the series.

Big weeks in the offense, specifically Cisco Rodriguez, who hits .433/.485/.733 with 2 HR and 12 RBI to take Player of the Week honors. Other hitters who pitched in include Duncan Hodges (.357/.379/,786, 3 HR, 7 RBI), Munenori Yoshida (.348/.375/.696, 2 HR, 6 RBI), Cosme Vega (.457/.471/.581 to move his average up to .387), and rookie stud Ronnie Carlson (.345/.406/.552 last week, .293/.336/.585, 8 HR, 19 RBI in first 31 games).

4-2 sim for Seibu as we take 2/3 each from Minnesota and Portland. That's good enough for a 1 game lead over Cleveland.

Peter Tracy continues his case as the best pitcher in the VL with a 101/7 K/BB so far. Munenori Yoshida is having a terrific season, as he wins Player of the Week honors after a .464/.483/.821 week. The 22 year old catcher is hitting .324/.370/.559 so far, and since he started getting consistent starts on 4/29, we're 22-7.

Another huge key has been Ronnie Carlson, who has been fantastic since being called up, hitting .317/.361/.648 with 10 HR and 26 RBI in 36 games. He really is living up to his nickname. Cosme Vega also continued his terrific play to raise his average to .394 after a .524/.583/.571 week.

What on earth is up with this team!? How can I send out the same lineup that put up a .714 OPS last season, and has had no one take talent or rating hits, or really is that old either, and they are putting up a .601 OPS? It's absolutely sickening. The pitching struggles I can understand, because I'm relying on a lot of rookies in the rotation, but nothing about what's happened to this offense makes a modicum of sense - time to write this year off because OOTP decided to screw me.

6-1 sim as we move back into first place. Randy Moss is coming back to the lineup, but Phillip Pitts performance in his absense has moved Josh Hamilton to the bench. As legendary as he is, he's 40 now and just a shell of his old self.
