    Re: Trade Block

Superstud (SP) Jack Bauer is on the block.... if he can't get them out from the mound, he'll slip into their locker room and slit their throats!

(2B) Steve Sands - $694 through 1880 and a mutual option for 1881 at the same price. Horrible SS, serviceable 3B, and plus 2B with some pop (#3 in XBH last year), though he should be limited to facing RH only.

(2B) John Sketchley - $1284 through 1880 and a mutual option for 1881 at the same price. He's been getting progressively better at 2B and has finally joined the ranks of the top defenders at the position. He can also be used at 1B, but I wouldn't push your luck at 3B/SS. He's a tick better against LH in his career, but this year he's smacking LH around to the tune of .340/.346/.398 in 100+ AB.

We're looking for prospects, picks, and/or ML-level youngsters, particularly in the OF, though we will consider all positions except pitcher. Defense is more important in the middle than it is in the corners and speed is a luxury.

    Re: Trade Block

(1B-AAA) Marty Settlemyer is on the block.

-a project prospect picked up after the folding of Cincinnati. He has taken big steps forward in my minor leagues this year in all aspects of the bat. (Contact, Power, Patience). He's a late bloomer who is nearly at his potential, and could be a heavy impact bat with superlative aforementioned power, and patience.

All in all I would be way more interested in this guy if he wasn't standing under the shadow of Dan Brouthers. We aren't picky here in Boston, and are willing to listen to and discuss any and all offers.

New Orleans is open to trading a good young starter (The Only Nolan, Lee Richmond, or Charlie Wood; Slawson and Rider are not on the table) for a good offensive player - pretty much any position will do since we do not have any to begin with.

In terms of major-league talent we're really only looking for a center fielder so I'm definitely willing to talk prospects of all levels for these guys. I'm especially interested in first or second base prospects and willing to send back prospects at other positions if necessary to get a deal to match up in that situation.
Bump. I'd have to be moved to deal Mickle or Hines but guys like Kokos and Pinkney can be had for pretty much best offer and could all offer something to a contender.

Chicago is still looking at add another bat at 2B or RF. We're the only team that has a chance of catching Baltimore this year, why not help us out?

(oh, and we still have some decent farm hands and picks that could be moved for the right player)

    Re: Trade Block

William Shen is back on the trade block and is available for very little. George Bently is ready to take over the full time 1B job, and Shen is a bit pricey for my team to be a backup. He's still a pretty good hitter, but I can't keep Bently on the bench for much longer.

Philadelphia has logjams aplenty in the outfield, but also not a lot of areas to improve. If you have a good catcher or third baseman to trade though then we're willing to move Ed Albertson, Paul Hines, George Gore, or Frank Lisle in the right deal.

    Re: Trade Block

We're starting to stockpile a lot of redundant players here in Boston, so I am making it known that quite a few of them are available for trades at this time, and am willing to package multiple guys together for one if I like the deal.

I'm incredibly easy to deal with, and am perfectly willing to be the "loser" of a trade if it gets me the man I'm after. I'm really in the need for some talent up the middle (prospect or regular)(C, 2b, SS, CF) That said, here are the players I would be most comfortable dealing away.

    Catchers
    Dick Krouse
    John Lange
    Billy Taylor
    Bill McNerney (AAA)

-All but McNerny could hit well enough to start and have passable defense. Krouse has recently come on as a very strong player to have against righties. While Billy Taylor is more suited to face lefties. McNerney is just a prospect at this point but could end up as the best of the 4

    First Base
    Marty Settlemeyer

-Can he field? No sir. Can he hit? Definitely. This guy most likely won't ever be a full time starter due to his glove, But he can provide you with multiple homeruns backing up a single infield position, and being your primary pinch hitter against lefties and that's worth something. He's an on-base machine.

    Other Infielders
    Henry Bishop
    Jack Skipworth (AAA)
    Dick Sparling (AAA)
    Freddy Garcia (AAA)

-All of them capable backup infielders. Sparling hits lefties better, as does Skipworth. Bishop still has the glove to man the keystone, and hit fairly well, and Garcia is a stud glove that can cover every position.

    Outfielders
    Dan Williams
    Joe Crosset
    Oscar Rexford

    - Would be confident enough to give all of these guys at least 200 at-bats at the TCBA level. Williams, and Rexford are more platooney against righties, and lefties respectively. Whereas Joe has solid on-base skills, but is a bit sluggish in the field.

    Pitchers
    Tom Townes
    Joe McKay (AAA)
    Tom Crane (AAA)
    Henry McPeters (AAA)
    George Lovins (AAA)
    Foghorn Bradley (A)

    - Personally, I'm not a big "Pitching" guy, so all of my pitchers are technically available if the price is right. Any of these guys could be had very easily though.
Thats all for now. If you should happen to see anything you like just send me a PM and I promise I'll get to it farily quickly.

Jake Wilshusen and/or Jim Coats are available for a corner outfielder that can hit. Neither are superstars, but both are pretty good hitters against RHP and have a lot of flexibility in terms of position.

I was hoping to add some real talent this offseason, but the FA class is pretty weak looking. If you need money, I have tons and would be willing to straight up buy players from you or take on bad contracts as long as I am getting average to above-average big-league talent. I especially need corner outfielders.

With Joe and Sampley traded, there are still some good solid players available:

C Deacon White - This 9-time All Star has had a very consistent career and will provide a veteran bat behind the plate

1B Billy Reagan - Hasn't been able to show it in platoon duty, but still makes very good contact.

1B Charlie Payton - Cheap 1B option has been very solid the last three seasons and hits righties well.

SS Fred White - Very good defensive infielder, has a lot of talent, but hasn't shown it in Washington.

OF Steve Neuer - Made the All Star team last year in his first season in Washington, provides a cheap OF option.

P Tom Lobdell - Veteran arm did a good job in spot duty last year.

P Candy Cummings - Cheap pitching option keeps the ball low, didn't get a chance in Washington last year.

P George Bradley - Hasn't allowed an earned run in the last two years, very good control.

Send me a PM/IM if you have any interest in these or any other non-Radbourn or Sisco players on my team.

With the acquisition of Abner Dalrymple and Frank Lisle, the St. Louis Buds/NY Gothams is making available Jim Plaster and Denny Jarrell. Not asking for a lot but please do respect the fact these two can still play when making your offer. Plaster just came off a season where he's 2nd in the WA in HRs and 5th in walks while Jarrell finished 5th in double and steals. These two are still going to be an improvement for many teams in the OF.

    Re: Trade Block

Ogden is ready to get rolling on some trades. Some of those available:

***NO LONGER AVAILABLE*** 3-time all-star C George Perconte. His name has come up in trade talks before and I said "Nopers!" My tone has changed. Perconte is having a terrible season of it this year, but I think he'll pick it up with a change of scenery (and he's played better of late). He's solid offensively and one of the best defensive catchers in the game. He's available only because I have some good products in my farm system. I'm not trying to give him away.***NO LONGER AVAILABLE***

RF George Tribble can also be had. I know someone in a text-based baseball simulation online league has to be tempted by the idea of owning a Tribble. He can also hit well and not embarrass a team in the field. I'm just kinda full of outfielders right now.

I've got some other good players! Probably? Take a look at my team and see if there's anything else you want. Only Henry Harry, Oscar Romonosky, and Bill Freer are off limits. It would also take a lot to pry away John Stipe or Tom Leverette. Otherwise, go nuts! I'm looking mostly for prospects. Um, pretty much everywhere.

Washington could trade any of the following:

P Candy Cummings - Hasn't allowed an earned run since 1880!
P Dory Dean - Solid reliever if given the chance
P George Bradley - Solid starter or reliever.
C Deacon White - This 10 time All Star could still be a productive player
1B Charlie Payton - Good hitter against righties
2B George Frailing - Struggled last year, but still has good ratings
IF Joe Gatson - Solid utility guy
3B/SS Ed Myhre - Hit .308/.341/.397 last year, still could develop into his talents
2B/SS Fred White - Can't hit, but is still a really good fielder
OF Steve Neuer - Not quite as good as his All Star year in 1881, but still a solid OF option

3b/ss ed myhre - hit .308/.341/.397 last year, still could develop into his talents
2b/ss fred white - can't hit, but is still a really good fielder
of steve neuer - not quite as good as his all star year in 1881, but still a solid of option

looking for prospects/picks for any of these guys.

Boston is making available Catcher, Billy Taylor for trade. He rakes against lefties, and seems like he should definitely be starting on a team somewhere. It's just not mine.
