I was pretty taken aback by that until I realized that Pete Browning was not the player he was in my mind.

He took quite the hit to his contact skills, but he's still a solid piece, especially at the minimum.

    San Francisco gets:
    OF Bill Ankiel
    2nd-round draft pick

    New York Gothams get:
    OF Jim Kirst
    IF John Fulks (AAA)

Again the Aces exchange an older player with proven skills for a younger player who has yet to fully prove himself in the bigs. Of course, he'll also be much less expensive than Kirst. Jim Kirst was a #3 overall selection by the Aces, and he was meant to be the centerpiece of San Fran's rebuilding project. While he became an above-average regular, he never lived up to the forecast of superstardom from Aces management.

In anticipation of Boston making another move to bolster their outfield, the Gothams have pre-emptively reached a deal with Pittsburgh for OF George Vukovich in return for the following:

    2B George Hixson
    2B Ned Martin
    2B Pony Dion
    3B Mike Roscoe
and $7000 in cold hard cash

OH! And please insert Vukovich as the starter in RF against RHPs. I've created a open spot in the lineup for him. Just place and forget about it. Thanks.
