' Final ' B.C.L. Season .....

Andy sent me a pm recently letting me know that we've lost quite a few owners this season. After some discussion, we thought it might be best to let you guys know the situation and see what everyone thinks.

The league has lasted over twenty seasons now (and over five years of real time), and a lot of you have put a good deal of time into the league. I don't want you to think that we don't want the league to go on. Having said that, sooner rather than later, we're going to run out of seasons to import. And if the interest isn't there anymore, I don't want to ask Andy to continue putting in the time running the league. He's been a good commissioner and I want to be fair to him and his time. It's also not fair to ask all of you to continue building and/or taking care of your teams if the interest is minimal.

Once we catch up to modern day, we can always go fictional with the players. We could contract a few teams, or we could try to fill the empty teams. The main thing at this point is that we would like to hear any ideas you have or how you guys are feeling.

I've always enjoyed the BL, seeing names of guys I grew up watching and such. We've had a pretty good run and it would suck to see it die, but if the interest isn't there it doesn't make sense to keep it going forever. Finding owners is a pain, so if that's all we got, you gotta do what you gotta do.

I really like the BCL for the same reasons Chris mentioned, but ultimately I agree that it doesn't make sense to go on forever. The reason I enjoy the BCL is that it brings back memories of my childhood, and that element is lost if we start using fictional players. I don't really know what we can do and it's definitely not fair to Andy to keep it going if the interest is waning.

Yeah, I'd have to agree with Alex and Stos. It's a very fun league, but part of the luster would be gone with fictional players, and if the interest isn't there, then it doesn't make much sense to keep it going.

i dont know if ive been one of the lost owners but ive been very neglectful of this league (as the PBU), and its not for lack of interest so much as real life just overwhelming me.

all that said, dont keep this thing going for my sake. not to be interpreted in me wanting to see this get shut down.

also id like to point out that andy's been a good commish, and has been attentive to my concerns as an owner whenever ive brought them to his attention.
