Confirmati. My new-new-new plan for the Seattle Mariners offense has begun. Let's see if I can buy out his last year of arbitration and get me a 3B on the cheap.

    Re: 2019 Trade Thread

    Since his extension was accepted:

    San Francisco sends:
    Josh Horton
    Tony Granadillo (3B, AAA)
    Quincy Lattimore (RF, A)

    for

    Cleveland sends:
    Casey Kotchman

This deal was a match made in heaven. I was looking to move Kotchman so I could replace him with my top prospect, and needed a good utility man to cover the infield with a good bat and solid defense. Meanwhile, mason was apparently planning on replacing Horton in his lineup with his top prospect, making Horton expendable. This deal gives me a much needed infield utility man along with a possible option at 3B next year in Granadillo, depending on how ST treats him. Lattimore doens't look like much right now, but a talent boost here, and he's suddenly a solid DH option. As for Kotchman, well, I'll miss him, and I wish him the best in San Francisco.

    Nice working with you mason

Agreed. Horton was good this year, but we needed a bigger bat in the lineup. Kotchman provides all kinds of gitty-up. Granadillo is a AAA option man for us we can probably replace with some of the dude's we have their already. Additionally, we are attempting to remake the infield some and Kotchman at 1B and Doolittle at 3B will be a nice start to that.

    Thanks, Felix.

The Athletics and Giants have completed a deal that will send 35 year old lefthanded pitcher Jeremy Sowers from Las Vegas to San Francisco for CF Dexter Fowler, the Giants 2nd round pick, and $3M.

The Giants continue to revamp their division championship team to put themselves in a position to win again in 2019, but a bit more convincingly.

    Blitz to confirm.

The Mariners and Giants have consumated a deal that will send infielder Yuliesky Gourriel and pitcher Zack Kroenke from Seattle to San Francisco for pitcher Michael Morrison, infielder Pete Orr, and minor league pitcher David Kopp. The deal is contingent upon Gourriel's contract extension.

    Felix to confirm.

Mariners agree. I was going to let Gourriel leave as a FA for nothing, but Mason jumped in and expressed interest, so we hammered out a deal real quick. On one hand, Gourriel is going for cheap (compared to what I paid, at least), but on the other, I've picked up a durn-good #5 starter, my future closer, and a solid utility INF. I don't know why, but I've got a good feeling about Morrison. Scott Deal and Zach Simons both started off as 6-8-8 kinda guys before their talent boosts, and Morrison has put up some very solid numbers in the bigs. I have my fingers crossed, but I think there's some room for improvement there.

Meanwhile, Kroenke (the Mariners #2 all-time leader in wins) finally sees his Seattle days wind down. I hate to let him go, but he'll find a good home in 'Frisco.

Both Gourriel and Kroenke need to be resigned for this deal to go through. Gourriel is asking for 18.5/4 and Kroenke would like 570k/3. Just to make sure everything's on the up-and-up, Mike, will you sign them to their extensions? Thank you!

    Issadeal.
The working class and the employing class have nothing in common. There can be no peace so long as hunger and want are found among millions of the working people and the few, who make up the employing class, have all the good things of life.

Between these two classes a struggle must go on until the workers of the world organize as a class, take possession of the means of production, abolish the wage system, and live in harmony with the Earth.

It is the historic mission of the working class to do away with capitalism. The army of production must be organized, not only for everyday struggle with capitalists, but also to carry on production when capitalism shall have been overthrown. By organizing industrially we are forming the structure of the new society within the shell of the old.

Seattle and Minnesota have struck a deal.

    Seattle gets: OF Leonardo Ware
Minnesota gets: MR Jesse Hoover, 2019 2nd-round pick

I think I'm done using Carte in my OF. I'm also done scrounging for FAs to fill my RF hole. This is me going out and building a brand new offense.

    Confirmed.

Its tough giving up Ware but with Burgess, Engel, Cooper, Martinez, and Keyes playing for 3 OF positions and the DH slot....we just did not have room for Ware. Hoover gives a solid reliever to take over as the long reliever and hopefully we get some solid talent in return for the 2nd round pick.

Could I ask a small favor of you guys? When you're posting trades can you list the level the player is at? It makes it a lot easier for me to find the players. Thanks.

    I did!

Does this mean the trades are through for the next file?

Good Lord, you neglected to mention Miranda's insane extension demands.

But then again, I neglected to ask.

Bet you had yourself a nice little laugh on the "pick up a cheap thirdbaseman" line I wrote, huh?

I honestly never looked, or did I.

That's why I dismantled my team this year, I couldn't afford any of the extensions these guys wanted.

    Re: 2019 Trade Thread

The Cincinnati Reds and Seattle Mariners have reached the following accord:

    Cincinnati Gets:
    MR David Kopp (R)

    Seattle Gets:
    SS Cale Iorg
    1B Jacob Stevens

Former capable infielder Cale Iorg had been relegated to backup duty this past season, a job he filled admirably. But his duties can be filled this season by Emmanuel Garcia for $2.6 Million less. Jacob Stevens, the longest tenured Red (who narrowly outlasted the now Free Agent Matt Leva), takes his $1.5 Million expiring contract to the West coast.

The duties of backup first baseman will be filled by Fernando "I traded WHAT for this guy?" Valenzuela, and the $4.1 Million coming off the books this season maybe frees me up for one extra move in this offseason. Or translates into more cash next year, either way. Oh yeah, I got some prospect out of all this too. Yahoo.

    Thanks for the deal

    Confirmed.

Iorg will be my starting second baseman, and with Miranda, Iorg, and Cozart, I've got a (relatively) inexpensive infield that will provide me with base hits and gold-glove defense.

Groundball pitchers are now welcome at Safeco.

The Phillies agree to this deal.

i wasnt convinced with Cousin's defense in CF so we'll be giving Jai Miller a chance at the starting job. Ackley and Cousin shall fight for the other outfield job with Ratliff in RF. This should give me some solid hitting off the bench and allow me to bench my starters often so as not to burn them out and risk them to injury.

thanks ryan for the easy deal and good luck
