    Ballparks

    We need to discuss ballparks.

    This is my proposal:

Each team gets a 30,000 seat stadium to start. If they want to add more seats, the owner must pay for them out of his own pocket by season's end. Each 1,000 seats will cost $500,000, so you'd need $5M for a 40,000-seat stadium.

You can set park factors however you'd like. But regardless of how we manage capacities, we're going to need each team to decide on their factors before we start the draft, so that teams aren't basing their factors on their roster.

    Yes? No?

    Re: Ballparks

I think Pittsburgh should get a 100,000 seat stadium because they are so awesome.

Other than that, the plan is fine

What about base construction costs (like $1 million or something) and escalators as sizes get bigger?

    Re: Ballparks

Alright, here's what we're going to do. Every team gets a 30,000-seat stadium for free. Every 1,000 seats you want to add will cost you $500,000.

For park factors, every point away from 100 will cost $50,000. So for instance if you set your average for RHB and LHB to 90, it would cost you $1 million, the same as if they were set to 110 each. This is to prevent teams from building extreme stadiums to suit their rosters.

Dimensions and wall height are arbitrary and completely up to each owner.

All money will be added into your expenses at the end of the season.

Willamette will be playing in 35,000 seat stadium with the following park factors:

    2B - 105
    3B - 105
    Avg of LHB - 94
    Avg of RHB - 97
    HR of LHB - 96
    HR of RHB - 93

at a total cost of $4 million.

I shouldn't be charged since I made mine before the draft like we were supposed to, damnit.

You can change your specs if it's too expensive for you.

And everyone else ... you know, take your time, but we can't start until this is taken care of.

    Re: Ballparks

The New Amsterdam Patroons will play in a regular 30,000 seats stadium with factors all at 100. I would like to have the dimensions of the Polo Grounds III:

    Dimensions:

    LF: 211
    LC: 445
    CF: 433
    RC: 449
    RF: 256

    Fences:

    Left to center: 10
    Center: 20
    Right Center: 10
    RF: 12

    Re: Ballparks

The Pittsburgh 57s will be playing their home games in beautiful Allegheny Park.

Allegheny Park seats 40,000 people, and has equal park factors.

The dimensions have no effect on the park factor, but are as follows:

    Dimensions:

    LF: 365
    LC: 406
    CF: 435
    RC: 408
    RF: 300

    Fences:

    Left Field Line: 14
    Left Field: 12
    Left Center: 12
    Center: 12
    Right Center: 9.5
    Right Field: 24
    Right Field Line: 27

These are the same dimensions as Forbes Field circa 1960

This will cost Pittsburgh owner Mak Dolnick $5 mil, but he feels it is worth it in the long-term

The Sean Weber Experience would like to play in a stadium, but our owner hasn't been around to fix one up, so I guess we'll be playing in a sandlot somewhere
