To sim, or not to sim

Well, I don't know if this was brought up before, this forum is getting pretty big and all, but if it has, we'll freshin it up a bit.
So who sims their seasons/games? How much of a season do you usually play if you do sim?
I personnaly don't sim any games. I tried it, even tried simming a season, and found I hate not being able to watch my players and choose who is doing what in a game. I couldn't ever play that particular season again. It's just one of those things I guess.
I have a buddy that said he used to sim about 30% of his games and played the rest.
Oh yeah, a quick q I had off the subject a little, didn't there use to be a way to start a new season/custom league or something without using the previous career stats? I thought that maybe doing it on random would have done it but it didn't.

heh, well, I did bring this up a while ago but, i didnt get a lot of reposnes. Maybe, this time it will.

Anyway, I sim maybe once every 20 games or so. In my opinion, yuo get a better sense of what your players are doing. For example, if sim a bunch of games and see that Jason Giambi has gone 0-15 or so then I think that he is in a slump and rest him. However, if you PLAY the games and see that he has hit everything on the button and he is just having bad luck. Same goes for pitchers.

I have some careers that I only sim and careers that I only play. I hardly ever combine the two.

I try to play as many games as I can, but every now and then I'll get a little impatient and sim a couple of games. At one point I was actually doing a pretty good job mimicking the actual MLB game dates. But I fell behind quite a bit as of late due to work.

Might be time to sim some games to catch up.

I have tried doing that, following the schedule day by day, but I get impatient and can't wait for the next day. So I just work at my own pace now.

I was actually really going pretty well with play one game a day, since that was all the time I really had to spend with HH2k2. Now I'm lucky if I can get in 1 game a week.

So far I'm playing all my games, I usually get 1 or 2 in a day and then 3 or 4 on the weekends if I'm not to busy. I might try simming a few weeks to speed things up but I enjoy playing the games and seeing what kind of stats I can put up myself.

Yeah. You'd think I'd slap some sense into myself or something.

I play manage only every game every pitch. I may start another season sometime and sim through it as the GM.

I sim about 30-40 % of my games. I usually only play games with a major draw to them.
    1. A great pitching match-up, i.e. Pedro vs. my #1 or #2. (Jeff Weaver and Rick Ankiel).
    2. A rookie making his major league debut.
    3. The first game after a trade, or a free-agent signing.
    4. I like to play every team at home and away at least once, particularly after the first season so I can see how they are developing and get a look at every stadium at least once per season.
    5. I play about 90% of my games after the Sept. 1 roster expansion to get a good feel for future stars.
    6. I play all of my playoff games.
