Will there be a patch for HH2k4 PC?

With all the features they left out of HH2004.
One thing everyone is upset about should get patched.

Look at the high heat 2004 pc box, and you will notice it supports a mouse.


3DO, I hope you see this, you need to patch this quickly in the game.

I hope you understand you are in fraud here.

I know theres more, but i'm not sure of everything.
I do know the fielders different times didn't line up with the tag and the player was out even though he was like 3 feet away.

I can understand your dissappointment/dissatisfaction with 2004. Some others have felt the same way you do since a month before the game release. That's when the folks discovered coming to the HH boards prior to release an advantage. They could make a decision before the game was released. Actually, some of the skeptics have that weren't sure about mouse support haven't missed the mouse. I only miss it with the click and drag and the reports. I had one manage only gamer privately tell me they are getting good games by playing.

It's hard to explain, but they have a brand new engine for this years game. That's why you see the new and improved graphics, the improved gameplay and the new animations. They are laying the foundation for future editions. They will try to get those features back in next years version.

As for fraud for mouse support, I don't think so. I understand you are frustrated. It's not too much stand on, but I can use the mouse in a few areas of the game.

I just asked about the patch because it seems every year one is required but 3do always remains silent. It seems like they will not say whether a patch will come or not until people have already given up on the game. Last year's game needed a patch just as much as this year. 2002 needed a patch as well and the one they gave was a disaster. I only hope 3do will say one way or the other soon because the more I play WSB I realise that HH may never be as good even with a patch. I fear that 3do is becoming the new Sierra. (they probably already have) They just release a product in any state of disarray and rely on the fans from their past glories to come back for more and more disappointment. It's sad, but all I want is confirmation one way or the other.

I see your point to a point. I don't feel at this point they are becoming the Sierra of sports games and here is why.

1) They just released today a PC opening day roster . That's the first time that they have done so since I have owned the game.

2) The layoffs and the money saving ideas that one of their CFO's developed helped them sell many games across all 3 platforms. It's reported they are doing well. They are launching the game on the Gamecube soon and overseas as well. Also, 3D0 is releasing 9 new games this year, they only released HH last year.

3) There have been HH04 commercials in mags, on tv, and radio.


As far as a patch, that's their call. Before the game was even released people were calling for a patch. The last patch I remembered came from 02 and corrupted mound visits. I certaintly wouldn't want that to happen again.

I would think 3DO is in the development stages of 05. Do I want them to spend 6 to 8 weeks on a patch they may or may not work and fall behind on 05?

There are very few sporting games besides this years Madden perhaps, that come out good to very good. All of this years baseball games need something or other from various users. It could be better running the bases, better fielding, better management functions, etc...... What audience to you address and at what cost?

I am not saying HH doesn't need improvements, it does. I think those improvements will be in 05 since they have the foundation laid.
