First of all, can you use custom rosters in a career season? If so, I am going to make the complete Pirates minor league system as best I can by editing the existing minor leaguers and would be willing to do the same for other teams...If someone can help me with getting them on the net for downloading, I would do some of the teams rosters... Let me know what you think...

I am also realy interested in a full minor league player file. Unfortunatly, When you start a league with "rosters as is" (i.e. no draft), all the players beyond the 25 drafted per team are not in the game. If you start a league without using the draft option, then you only get the major league players (the minor league ones are replaced with Fantasy players). (See my post "Rosters & The Free Agent Draft"
.
I think the only way to get a full minor league system is to edit the entire league, and then use that league file (or a copy of it) as your active league.
I'm up for editing some teams as well. Perhaps if more people are interested, then we could each allocate a division and share the league file...
One problem I have with the "updated" rosters is that very often the stats for the players are not very accurate. For example (not to discredit the work done on them), in Pudge & Jim's roster file Tim Hudson has an endurance like a closer. Because of this one error (to one of my favourite players), I don't trust the rest of the players.
Hopefully if a larger group of people can edit a league file(especially their home teams, where they may know the minor leaguers), then we will get some accurate players for the sim-engine.

I would be very amenable to doing my share! My beloved Twins will need all the help that they can muster (in the minors that is!) Let me know how this proceeds!

I would be willing to do the NL Central, Ive watch (and will watch) a lot of baseball and think that I could do a good job with the ratings and what not. Also I've got the Baseball Weekly season preview that has a good minor league report...there are also some good websites out there (like baseballamerica.com)...Right now my computer is not cooperating so I can't run HH, so I'll have to look into the business of having edited minorleaguers once I get everything fixed...

OK - I'm willing to co-ordinate this. If we could only get a few more people... 1 per division would be great. Anyone interested (including those that have already posted), please e-mail me at mordraken@idirect.com
Once I get some feedback (say by the weekend), I will send out some suggestions on how we can proceed.
Also, as I have said on other posts, a lot of players are in there somewhere, and I have asked 3DO how to get access to them. So far no response...
Anyone interested in helping out with this, please let me know.

Need to find a source of stats though. And what rosters should we start on. Pudge and Jim has been a problem so that is kinda hard to figure out.

Hi all,
I have started work on this on my own. Here is what I am doing:
1) Importing all those minor league players that are on the ROM\Season200 Free agents file. I am about half done this (I have done it from Toronto up to Milwakee). This will be finished by the weekend
2) Go through the Rotonews sight to find out accurate player names. They have pretty much all the impact players (around 50-60 per club). I will throw all the extra players from step 1 into the AAA club (since these will be the most statistically accurate - even if they are not actually playing at that level (or are injured like Tom Gordon).
3) Once I have all the names in, I will get the basic stats (and I mean BASIC) from the Rotonews sight (they have info on hits, HRs, SB, RBI, R) and throw that into the stats area, correcting L/R issues.
I will probably send a copy to the good people at Baseball Sim Central after step 1 and again after step 3. Then I will leave it up to the users of the rosters to let me know about any errors (like some pitcher in AA for Cleveland is a starter, and should have a higher endurance).
If anyone wants to give me a hand with this, e-mail me at mordraken@idirect.com. I can send you the league file, and using SSHHEdit you can export and import information. My suggestion though is to wait until I finish Step 1 since that will solve a lot of the roster problems.
