I got it for ps2, feel free to ask any ?'s

I know I appreciated when others got the game before I did answering questions, so fire away

Im playing my first game, my Cubbies versus the Jays

Lots of foul balls, Ive fouled three to the backstop, and two towards first base and one towards third base, so that is improved

Im only in the third inning, but so far, Tanyan Sturtze has 40 pitches thru 3, and Kerry Wood has 25 thru two.

Double play animations improved, Hee Sop Choi knocked one straight up in the air for an easy infield out, he looked up, threw the bat down, and took off to first. Sosa hit a homer, and high fived the guy at the plate. Throwing animation is much better, guys wing it and then just lob it back when there is no other play to be made.

Gameplay (keep in mind Im a pc'er and just picked this up to have something to play till PC comes out) Its excellent. Lots of two baggers, etc. One Homer so far, thats Sosa. Kerry Wood has good stuff but has walked two so control seems there. Thats all Ive got for now. Anymore Questions?

I also got a copy today. I'm home sick from work! Played 1 game.

Foul Balls - Had a few. Not too many though.
Pitch Counts - Seemed pretty good. I used Kris Benson and he had 75 through 6.2 against MIL. He wasn't tired, but I was messing around checking out the different players and got a new guy in there.
Animations - Saw some pretty cool infield animations. They really changed how players charged a baseball. I thought throwing on the run showed the most different animations.
Gameplay - HH as always. I played on PRO (default) and found it too easy. No big deal.

Pickoff Attempts - Had a fair amount of catcher pickoffs (about 3-4) in 1 game. Not a big deal, but more than you'd expect. Sheets threw over on me a few times, but nothing like 6 in a row. His most consecutive was 2.

I'm pleased with the little I played it. I'm simming a Franchise now to see how those stats/transactions turn out.

SOLD! That's enough for me. EB in La Jolla is holding the game for me. Problem is my wife has the car and went to the DMV.
Why, oh why did I have to get married!!!!! I'd have been there and back by now.

Well, I simmed 2 different franchises. ARI won the WS over MIN the first season and MIN won it over ARI the other time.

One thing that I saw that disturbed me was that there were NO trades in either sim. None at all. Everything else looked good. Injuries here and there, players retired and went to the HOF, stats looked excellent etc...

Oh the schedule IS correct. I only checked PGH's and it was the same one.

    Cutter is tough to hit
Circle Change is tough to hit.

You can edit and create a player.

Sounds pretty good so far. The lack of trades is a little odd.

Tough luck, Jim. Hey, can't you hitch a ride? You've got a thumb, right?

It's against the law, isn't it? He might be picked up by the CHIPS and it will go on his record.

Yes it does have sliders. They are batting (several options), run and pitch speeds, throw speeds, and misc tuning options

Some other cool things Ive noticed so far in three games.

Teams can have two ways to wear socks. Mark Prior, Mark Belhorn, and Mike Remlinger all have the high socks, while the rest of the team has the low or no socks.

The different types of fastballs, curves, etc all look very different.

    Some disappointing but fixable things
    Pudge is still a FA
    Colon is still an Expo
I can't find pitcher warmup yet.

Fire away with ?'s I will be on here till around 6:30 or so

Are the players rated realistically (lower) or are the all-stars 99 overall?

    Ken Griffey

    avg 77
    power 88
    patience 83
    fielding 92
    running 62
    throwing 80

It also has potential and the numbers are a little higher

Here's how pitcher warmup works (I couldn't figure it out right away either):

Start an exhibition game and choose "game options". Set warmup pitcher to yes. When you need to warmup a pitcher go to the pitchers screen and instead of highlighting the current pitcher and hitting X, press down to the "Bullpen #1" or "Bullpen #2" slots. Hit X here and then choose a pitcher to warmup. In the past you'd highlight the current pitcher and then choose someone to warmup. If you so this in 2004 you'll wind up inserting the pitcher you wanted to warmup.

When I simmed one season, Griffey came out with 47 HR's. For some reason that jumped out at me so I think he must be rated fairly high...

Sounds good. So the game has potential ratings as well as actual, huh? That's pretty cool.

Have you simmed any seasons to see how minor leaguers develop yet?

I havent simmed a whole season yet, but mjb has I think. This is much improved over last year on both the ps2 and the PC. I've already invited over friends tonight to play, and my wife said "I guess I should go ahead and say see ya in October" I bought it at EB and went ahead and paid for the PC version. Im debating on once the PC version comes out should I keep the ps2 version or trade it for something else. Im having a ball so far though.
