My concern is that those are just variable put in early in the dev process when Manage-Only was still an option. I mean, how can there be a variable called 'manage-only offense menu' when there is NO manage-only mode?
Though it makes me wonder if manage-only somehow made it into the final release. That would be nice, plus it could end the manage-only discussion and finally shut me and Cleve up!![]()

Go Reds!! (I think)
I checked every factors of HH2K4 tune file...(it is uploaded by Mr. Wabner at different HH forum)
Link: http://www.highheat2004.net/forums/i...&t=4109&st=140
Some different things are.....
(1) no fastball/non-fastball speed in HH2K4
(2) no CPU/Human batting/power factors
(3) debug text: 1 (2003 -> "0") ---- what's different?
(4) guess pitch bonus: 0.250 (2003 -> 0.40)
guess pitch penalty: -0.220 (2003 -> -0.35)
(5) ball shadow scale factor: 0.058
Scale of the ball shadow, relative to the current ball scale. NOTE: The art is too big, so I'm scaling it down; used to be 1.6667
(6) use alt uniform 2on2: 0.90
use alt uniform exhib: 0.35
use alt uniform default: 0.05
(7) rain percentage: 1.0 (2003 -> 0.15)
(8) thrown ball minimum rolling speed: 23.0 (2003 -> 20)
(9) 25 pitches plus "riding sinker" and "slow split"
(10) # PITCH_TYPE_FASTBALL,
pitch angle fastball: 0.0
pitch angle variance fastball: 0.0
pitch angle speed fastball: -167.5
pitch angle speed variance fastball: 0.0
--> this is new of HH2K4....
I am not sure what those mean.
I suppose that those are pitching arm angle, release point, or ball's physical factors.
Any ideas????
Cheers,
Reds, I fear you may be right.. But I posted this over at HHNZ.
It actually wishful thinking But...

First of all, Happy birthday ( old man )![]()
After I read the tune file I noticed the Manage mode functions.
I know that you said they did not work but I would like you, ( BEG YOU ) to try something.
( custom controls: 0 0 or 1; when 1, the following buttons are controls (does not apply to keyboard)
If I read this correctly, a setting of < 0 > means that this will apply those # to the keyboard, making them hotkeys , activating them. A setting of < 1 > means that these Hotkeys are disabled..
At least that’s what I hope it means. Or vise versa.. Would you try it both ways..??
I suppose it’s possible that 3DO might not have had time to activate this but is does look as if it were intended.
If this was correct, you could choose type of pitch, Bunt , Hit, Steal, set defense. I am wondering if (Manage only Defense or Offense on menu ) would bring up the things that are missing. Such as Hit and run, pitch out, Walk batter, Sac bunt, pick-off, Bean ball. Etc.
It would be quite a bit of work if this were correct, especially with the lack of one pitch, but it would be playable at least for manage mode players.
I could be way off base here, But it is wishful thinking over logic at this point..
# In the following controls, the numbers are button numbers as reported by Windows.
# The button number can be from 1 to 19; a zero means the command is inactive

Cheers,
Makes me think it is included in with the sliders instead.
What I thought was beautiful don't live inside of you, anymore.
It's been a blast.
I am starting to get double posts on quite a few posts that I make. Starting to get annoying. Sorry.

If you are on to something, you know I have my fingers and toes crossed for you and the manage only people.

I think the hitting variables will be part of the sliders. Bill Abner says the game is playing great. 6 foul balls in one at bat! That just didn't happen last year.
Phillies in 2003!!!
That is great to hear. My biggest gripe about last years game were the lack of foul balls. HH2002 had a a good foul ball count. Looks like 04 is shaping up to be a goodie.Originally posted by Doby12

Defunct Ronald Reagan League - New York Mets - 1986 World Series, 1984 & 1987 Divisional seriesDefunct Victory League - Forked River Monsters - 2006 Jeffries League
hey guys,
I'm guessing some of the missing variables such as the power/hitting tune variables and simulation variables are handled in the slider part of the game now and that's why we dont see it in the tune at all.
one thing i am very impressed with is the ability of what it looks like to allow us to change pitcher arm angles, or ball phyics angles. That is something that could extend the complexity of the game. I'm hoing the angle and speed variance means that a certain pitcher with higher "Stuff" ratings might be more adept to changing arm angles and possibly going "laredo" like Cone used to.
it looks like a lot of things still will need some tinkering which is good. Examples are the catch radius (they have it way too high i'd say), bouncing ball attributes on turf and grass (out of the box are never truly realistic enough but i forget my exact values last year for them) and min/max velocities of thrown balls. I'm expecting the tune file still accepts .0100th values to fine tune.
it is looking that the format is the same as last year's game which is good because we can plug and play with some of last year's values and see how that works. I'll be looking forward to tuning the game again this year given i have the time.
i've always lowered the hum/cpu pitcher control a lot lower than it is set at curerntly, but if the game is revamped in any way from a gameplay perpsective, then it's something we have to play with first before deciding if it needs further tweaking.
definitely excited about the pitch type variables we can edit.........looking good so far!
