Don't know the answer but I'd like to know too. I think I have one team not in the red. I'll have to see what it looks like when I start a new season (I'm Playing past the trade deadline anyway- late August '02).

Just a suggestion since I have not yet truly begun to use the program (but have read extensively about it wherever I could - and have tinkered with it)...try reducing the max ML salary to 8000 or lower and see it that helps.
...how long were you using the program before the problems began - beginning of 1st season, after several season, after many seasons???
Just curious as I was intending to use the program as well but if this "overbudget" error happens all the time then maybe I won't.

...also just a shot in the dark but run the "unhide" utility to make sure you have no hidden players on the teams.
I'm thinking that there is a possibility that contracts are being paid to players that do not actually appear on the teams while in HH2k2. I found that my team had several hidden players that appeared in GMsimfinance but not in the game itself - this even after a total despirtion draft at the beginning of the season.
Hope these ideas help!

.
The program has been tested with these numbers:
budget: 50000
Min AAA: 150
Min ML: 500
MAX AAA: 400
Max ML: 8000
default: 250
Try to use the same balance. What's important is the ratio between 50000 and 8000. Also it' signed better at the beginning of a season (Day 0). Teams in the red will get back into their feet as the season goes. -8000 is two or three contracts into the red. To be frank their is part in the first signing that are aleatory, it's never the same, so very hard to balance in term of programming. That depend of the number of good players in a team, if more good contracts will be attribuated to them or not, how far you are in a season at the first signing, and if a team has more aged players in ML or AAA.
