Talking my all star/mvp "realism" ver 1.0 tune uploaded

    Hey Guys,
Since Gen is going away and the download section wont be updated until early April after tonight, I decided to release my all star/mvp ver 1.0 tune a little early so people can try it out.
I'll give you a little bit of information on it.

It's basically an All star/MVP tune. I've pretty much put the variables in a between level of all star/mvp because I just think this is fairly realistic this way. It can be played on either MVP or All star level. Lowered are pitching contol, hitting, power (both hum and cpu) and several other variables.
Raised are small things like balk variable, % caught leaning (only slightly for these, but before, i could go about 200 played games without really seeing any balks and very very few passed balls).

of course there are more changes, like friction on grass and bounciness on turf, so hope everyone likes it. Of course this is released a little earlier than expected, so i'm sure there are plenty of things i could improve still. If anyone has any comments, opinions, suggestions, please feel free to shoot away at me. I'm open to anything, just if it is criticism, try to keep it contructive so that there are no hard feelings among anyone.

well, if anyone wants the file, just leave your e-mail me, or if you feel more comfortable to do it privately, e-mail me at kottendo@ic.sunysb.edu and i'll send you the zip file of the tune and instructions. It's only like 8k so it's extremely easy to send.

    Keirik's tune

Great job on the tune!! pretty realistic scores (4-3, 6-2, and that kinda stuff, more foul balls definitely, and more realistic hitting, meaning, if there's a fastball on the outside corner, you're not going to pull it and have it go far, you pretty much have to poke it the other way....good stuff. Realistic pitch counts and K total...

    Job Well Done Keirik!!!

The working class and the employing class have nothing in common. There can be no peace so long as hunger and want are found among millions of the working people and the few, who make up the employing class, have all the good things of life.

Between these two classes a struggle must go on until the workers of the world organize as a class, take possession of the means of production, abolish the wage system, and live in harmony with the Earth.

It is the historic mission of the working class to do away with capitalism. The army of production must be organized, not only for everyday struggle with capitalists, but also to carry on production when capitalism shall have been overthrown. By organizing industrially we are forming the structure of the new society within the shell of the old.

did you say you raised % caught leaning? As in picked off first? I ask because in my season, not using your tune file it seems i have at least one runner per game picked off, even if I didn't tell them to steal. This already seems excessive to me. Where do you change these things. I might just be done, but I can't find it.

thanks for the compliments bucco......i'm glad you like it.

monkey, yes i raised the caught leaning slightly. When you get runners picked off, is it because you are making the guy lean too far or anything like that?
or is it just naturally happening that the cpu picks u off at 1st?

I raised it because i really almost never in the past 3 years saw anyone jut caught leaning the other way. At least in the games i played it was extremely rare. Rare enough to make me not want to bother even throwing over to first anymore.

anyway, in the tune file under which ever level you are playing (rookie, all star, mvp, etc) you should see "pickoff caught leaning pct:"
    alter that.....
mine is set at .015, while i think it comes at .0003 default.

If you want less pick offs, just lower the number. As i said though, i rarely saw any, and i also increased slightly balk numbers too so that you can't just decide to throw over all day waiting to pick him off. Eventually you run into the odds and you could end up balking instead. Just thought it was more realistic that way.

thanks for the reply and the info. I don't actually play. I like to manage only and watch the games, so I don't actually control how far they are leading off. Also I hardly ever bother throwing over but I understand where you're coming from. Oh, it's not that i'm actually stupid I'm just new to all this.

    Keirik,

I'll try it out. I'm looking for one that has a good MVP balance. Sounds like yours will help. Waiting for the big Roster uploads, so all I'm doing right now is playing to test the right tune file anyway.

Hey, i wouldn't mind a copy. I sent an email through the board, but I don't really know how that works, so I'm just putting in a request here to cover my bases. But from what I hear, your tune file is just what my HH2k3 season needs.

    Keriek's Tune File

I have played several games with Keriek's tune file and I notice more foul balls, more walks, and less hitting clinics by cpu or me. The last 2 games have been extra inning decisions won by the cpu and me. I haven't seen any foul balls go into the stands, but a couple went behind my head at the plate that I never saw. The catcher didn't go back to catch them, so, I assume that they went into the stands. And, I was caught leaning once. Nice job, Keriek.
