I remember someone saying that they edited a player, changed the name, and the announcer says his name. It happened to me now!! I changed a random triple A players name to Justin Speier, a pitcher the tribe brought up to the bigs a few weeks ago, and much to my suprise, the announcer said his name perfectly! How does this happen?? Does the sound file contain players names even when that player isn't even on the roster? Just wondering!!

rosto01, the game simply checks its inventory of names against those that you create and if it sees a name that is already in its database, it will announce the name. So if you name a guy 'jksouf martinez', the game will only recognize and pronounce the last name.

Yeah, I added Alex Ramirez to the Indians roster and heard his name announced. I figured that given that there is at least one other Ramirez in the league that the computer must simply recognize the name. It is still pretty amazing. Although its funny that someone could think that you could edit a player's name and hear it announced after all the voices are added to the game.
