I haven't played around with the base injury chance field in the tune file yet, so maybe I shouldn't complain yet, but I really shouldn't have to touch anything in there out of the box.

So, with that being said, have any of you noticed how often injuries occur? Or, is it just me? Within the first two weeks of the season, three of my regular starters went down with ridiculous injuries that will keep them from playing, on average, 20-24 games. What's that about? And then in one game (it was a fluke I guess since this has never happened to me before) there were a total of 3 injuries. Two to the opposing team and one to mine. Unbelievable if you ask me.

If anyone out there has already messed with base injury chance and has found a good number, please let me know. I'd appreciate it.

Mine is set at .015. I normally get 1 player injuried every 4 games or so. However I did get a player injuried that was not even playing. R. Lankford was injuried for I think it was 2 or 4 days. Can't explain that one.

Sort of like Ken Griffey Jr. down with a hamstring or Nomar down for 2-4 months with the wrist injury or how all those players seem to get injured watching tv, getting out of cabs, walking down stairs, etc. etc.

Mind you, I've noticed that the injuries do seem fairly severe when they happen. But I'm not noticing the rate being too out of whack.

    Strange Injuries

Bartolo Colon & Brian Anderson (real life) - both cut their pitching hands on a bottle of aftershave... Colon missed at least 1 start (could have been 2) last year, but Anderson pitched through the pain in a spring training game.

(haven't bought the game... still on the fence... waiting for the price to come down...)

I'm playing with what comes out of the box, and I haven't had a SINGLE injury in a month of play yet.

Are we all forgeting ricky bones getting hurt in a Lay-Z-Boy last season watching tv. I hit todd helton in the head instead of an intentional walk and he got a concussion.

Whoa, I guess no one has the same sentiment....

I don't really have a problem with injuries, it's just that when it happens to someone who, for example, is just standing out in the outfield doing nothing, that bothers me.

Although some of these injuries you folks have brought up does nothing to support my complaints.

    Unhappy

Injuries? Try having three(!) successive right fielders go down in five games. I'm having to convert minor leaguer CF and LF and sign free agents in April! I thought it was maybe the infamous "right-fielder injury bug", or maybe the other teams had a voodoo doll or something...
