There will be a Major Season 6

For those that don't already know, there will be a Major 6.

NHK has announced that the 6th season of Major will start in April of 2010.

And based on the article title I linked to, it seems it will delve further into Goro's psychological scars from giving up a game losing home run to Joe Gibson Jr. during the Baseball World Cup.

I still haven't decided whether or not I'll continue to write summaries here and sub-titles for Minor Ja Nai, but I'm sure I'll have a decision well before the new episodes start.

Of course, I can also be persuaded if enough people kneel before me and kiss my feet.

Seriously though, I've been a lot busier lately and I honestly don't know if I'll have enough time. We'll see though. While it was a little stressful cranking out the summaries and the sub-titles each week (especially towards the end), I did enjoy it.

In any case, I'll be posting my decision here at this blog so be sure to check back every now and again.

Your summaries were wonderful, coming as they did fairly soon after the episode aired -- so for a desperate fan waiting to know what they were talking about, they were a God-send. And it was great having you as part of Minor Ja Nai, as well -- really good subs got even better once you signed on!

I'm sure it won't be an easy decision, though -- as much as one loves to do certain things, when life is busy, even things close to the heart get stressful! Best wishes with the decision-making, I'll be keeping tabs on this space to see how it comes out.

I rather preferred MJN's subs; near the very end of the 5th season some other group was producing subbed episodes of Major. However, the work was rushed, and the subs were hardly worth calling 'translations'. So I hope MJN continues their fine work when Season Six of Major finally does Air.

I'm relieved to hear there will be a sixth season, as there were rumors to the contrary right after Season 5 drew to a close.
