RIP Cory

Rate this Entry
I remember when the Phillies aquired Cory Lidle a few years ago. I though he was a serviceable player, and that he brought a bit to the Phils. Unfortunately, while he was with us, the Phillies never made the playoffs, and as we all know, Lidle was traded to the Yankees at the trade deadline this year with Bobby Abreu.

He then proceeded to make a few comments about the Phillies that I didn't like.

But over the past few seasons until his trade, I cheered on Cory when he pitched. I saw him pitch a game in 2005, which I believe he won, and he willed be missed by the players, coaches and staff that knew him, the fans that cheered him, and most of all by the family he leaves behind.

RIP Cory Lidle.

I didn't have a chance to see Lidle pitch all that much when he was traded over to the Yanks. Personally, I remember him mostly for his time with the Mets (even though he only pitched in Flushing for one season). From what I've read, he seemed like a pretty decent teammate, notwithstanding the comments he made about Philadelphia. He probably should have kept his mouth closed, but whatever, while he was with the Yanks, he more or less did what he was asked to do.

My condolences to the Lidle family. No one should ever have to suffer the premature loss of a family member.

It's weird, I watched only a few games this postseason so far, but saw Lidle pitch last saturday. My condolences to his family :sad2:
