  1. NPB: Darvish to throw more games, less innings; Giants unveil '36 throwbacks

    NIPPON HAM FIGHTERS
...It appears as though the Fighters may put a limit on the number of innings Yu Darvish throws in his starts. Instead of having their ace throw on 6 days of rest, it seems like they begin to pitch him on 5 days of rest during the second half of the season (or at least until the All-Star break). And since pitching on 5 days of rest will increase the number of games he pitches in, the team will likely limit the number of innings he pitches per game.

It included a good deal of old footage and photographs as well as interviews with former players, announcers, and local historians. The show only lasts about thirty minutes, but if you have any interest in the old PCL or a unique ...

  5. NPB: Aoki's left ankle appears ok; Swallows to ban jet balloons permanently?

    YAKULT SWALLOWS
...Norichika Aoki's left ankle appears to be ok. He took BP with the rest of the team on Wednesday and didn't appear to have any problems with it.

...The Swallows are heading in the direction of permanently banning all jet balloons from Jingu Stadium. This comes on the heals of a temporary ban that was started on May 24th due to the swing flu. Sanitation and the amount of time it takes to clean-up all the jet balloons were cited as reasons for the potential
