The Minaya Manifesto

The Minaya Manifesto is a place for the ramblings of two fans that happen to root for teams that, for better or for worse, once were/currently are led by the mighty Omar Minaya, general manager extraordinaire.

  1. All's Quiet on the Metsern Front

So far, little has happened in Metsville this off season.

After a horribly disappointing season to everything but the Failpon's wallets (team wise, not Madoff wise), the Mets have not really been players in winter activities, sticking to the resigning of cement shoes Alex Cora and signing Japanese reliever Ryota Igarashi while consistently being in the midst of rumors for just about every catcher that's available and for outfielders Jason Bay and Matt Holliday.

    For most

  2. Mets End Horrifying Season 70-92; Worst Showing in 6 years

Finally, the year of the injury has come to a bitter end for Mets fans....

With the team finishing up the year having swept the Houston Astros, the team limps into the off-season having posted their worst overall record since they finished 66-95 back in 2003, when Art Howe and Steve Phillips were in town and the club was full of aging vets who's better days were past them.

  4. Trade Deadline Winners and Losers, Stos Style

With the trade deadline dead and gone, I thought I'd take a look at the deals that most intrigued me and declare who won and who lost each one.....this is purely opinion; please leave all egos and definitives outside the box, plez

Florida gets 1B Nick Johnson from Nats for minor leaguer Aaron Thompson:

Looks like a good old fashioned deadline deal to me. Johnson is a slick fielding first baseman with a steady stick who's, when not missing huge chunks of time, always

  5. Mets and Nationals News (7/29/09)

The Mets won last night to pull within five of the wild card lead.

The Daily News says that Frenchy has changed his stance:

The right fielder made a change in his batting stance and grip and it has resulted in positive changes in his game. Tuesday night, Francoeur had an RBI single in the second inning to get the Mets on their way to a 4-0 victory over the Rockies at Citi Field.
